Top 10 Golf Resorts in the World

Last week, GolfTalk Live’s own expert – Jim Phillips, The Traveling Golfer – bravely submitted his list of the 10 Best Private Courses in the immediate Philadelphia area. As expected, the list drew some comments.

This week, he is branching out a bit farther – putting forth his list of the 10 Best Golf Resorts in the World. The fact that he has spent time at all of them just underscores that fact that he deserves the title, The Traveling Golfer.

Here are Jim’s selections:

One area that is not on the list that I think could be at the top is the American Club in Kohler Wisconsin. Whistling Straights gets the headlines, but there are four worldclass courses at the resort.

Another area that is great to look at is the TPC Sawgrass. If you stay at the Marriot there are actually five courses that you can play. Including the more challenging Sawgrass C.C. where The Players Chapionship used to be before the Stadium Course was built.

At this point we are splitting hairs it really doesn’t matter where you go if you are with the right people the golf will be fun.

I agree with Gerdy. If you are with the right people, it shouldn’t matter where you go. The people you are with make or break any golf trip – both on and off the golf course.

  3. Tony Leodora

Great points about both the American Club in Kohler, Wisconsin and TPC Sawgrass. The Traveling Golfer will have to get out and re-inspect those properties.
